Ubuntu on an Acer Ferrari - Dapper
Introduction
I used Ubuntu 6.06 on my laptop full time for quite some time. I have since Switched to Ubuntu 7.10 and it is much better. I would not recommend running any other version of Ubuntu.
If you insist on using Dapper Drake, here are the issues that I ran into. This list is incomplete and will never be updated
Wireless
For the wireless, you should ensure that the bcm43xx module is unloaded before loading the ndiswrapper module.
Graphics
There is a problem with the initial video setup for which there is a workaround: Bug #22985
